We are looking for an experienced Fleet Engineer to join our team. In this role you will assist with testing, commissioning, maintenance and performance of our Class 93 traction and rolling stock fleet. You’ll be the main technical contact for all fleet matters, ensuring our assets are safe, reliable and meet commercial and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact for all engineering matters relating to the traction and rolling stock fleet.
Oversee fleet maintenance activities, including service delivery, spares, parts, tooling, drawings and obsolescence management, working with internal teams and external suppliers.
Manage all technical, defect and incident reporting associated with the traction and rolling stock fleet.
Lead customer interactions regarding technical, modification, overhaul and repair activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and legislation.
Deliver effective day‑to‑day management of owned rolling stock by ensuring accurate and timely maintenance reporting within TOPS and other relevant IT systems.
Qualifications
Essential:
HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an engineering or technical discipline.
Desirable:
Membership of IET, IMechE or similar institute.
Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of traction and rolling stock.
Understanding of maintenance planning and control.
Competent using MS Office and railway systems (TOPS, R2, RSL, Genius).
Able to write clear technical and non-technical reports.
Willingness to travel when needed.
Full driving licence.
